The Biblical Core Course is 12 weeks of focused bible study and 8 - 12 weeks optional outreach that reveals the power of the word of God. The next Biblical Core Course in Brisbane runs from April 5th 2010 - June 25th 2010. The Biblical Core Course is run here once a year, starting late January or February each year.

This second level Youth With A Mission course will equip you with the tools for life to study the Bible. BCC teaches the inductive study approach. The inductive approach is:

  • Spending time in his word and allowing the Holy Spirit to teach you.
  • Setting aside preconceived notions and approaching the word with a willingness to hear it afresh.
  • Learning to interpret the bible in context (symbols, tough passages, etc).
  • Studying the bible in the historical settings of its original readers.
  • Learning to live what the word says by directly applying these principles to your life.
  • Learning how to proclaim the truths of the word to others.
  • BCC teaches the students to study the word and interpret it for themselves!
  • Along with Inductive Teaching, Preaching and Small Group Bible Studies, students also learn from the apostles how to prepare an evangelistic message.
  • These times are powerful as students are challenged to share with others what they've learnt and see God using them to impact lives.

This will be three months that will change your life forever. Come and join us for our next BCC and allow God to overwhelm you in His word.

"The Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." Heb 4:12-13

The Biblical Core Course is offered as part of the Institute for the Nations (I for N), Australia. The Institute for the Nations is the name of YWAM's training body in Australia. The University of the Nations, YWAM's international training body, does grant cross-credits for this course. It may also be possible for the student to apply for Austudy, if they qualify.

On completion of the 12 week lecture phase and 12 week outreach phase (optional), certificate IV in Biblical Studies will be awarded (code 51966).

BIBLICAL STUDIES SEMINAR

We also run a 3 week seminar for those who are unable to do the whole 12 week course above.  This is called the Biblical Studies Seminar, and is similar in content to the first 3 weeks of the BCC.   This course is not accredited with the Institute for the Nations, but cross credits can be granted by the University of the Nations.  It is also possible for churches and bases who are interested to request for this seminar to be run at their location, or a shorter version can be tailored to their needs.

The next seminar will be run in conjunction with the first 3 weeks of the BCC (above), starting on April 5th and finishing on April 23rd, 2010.  This will be held at Shaftesbury Campus, 1-83 Deception Bay Rd, Deception Bay.
